Learn the Multiplication Facts - Times Tables

Lesson 4 - Learning the 1's

  • The one multiplication facts
    • Multiplication is repeated addition so:
      • 1 x 4 = 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4
      • 1 x 2 = 1 + 1 = 2
      • 1 x 5 = 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 5
      • 3 x 1 = 3
      • 9 x 1 = 9
    • Because of the commutative property of multiplication:
      • 1 x 4 = 4 x 1 = 4
      • 1 x 8 = 8 x 1 = 8
  • Any number times one is always itself!
