Fish Shop Warehouse - Multiplication Common Core Instruction

Content Skill: Multiplication          Common Core State Standards: CCSS.Math.Content.3.OA.C.7 - Fluently multiply within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division or properties of operations.  By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.

Description

Fish Shop Warehouse was designed to help kids understand the fundamentals of multiplication and to interpret the product of whole numbers. In this game, kids work at a fish warehouse.  They unpack aquariums and fill them with fish.  Students are led step-by-step through grouping objects.

Fish Shop Warehouse is designed to help kids interpret products of whole numbers and interpret quotients of whole numbers. (Common Core State Standard 3.OA.1 and 3.OA.2)

Instructions

Fish Shop Warehouse Common Core 1 - Multiplication.comAfter the opening screen loads, click on ENTER to begin the game.
Fish Shop Warehouse Common Core 2 - Multiplication.comChoose the fact families you would like to practice by clicking on the aquariums.  Each aquarium will glow after they are selected.  To deselect an aquarium, just click on it again.
Fish Shop Warehouse Common Core 3 - Multiplication.comThe Fish Shop Warehouse game will begin.  First, drag the correct number of aquariums to the table.  (In this example, you would drag 4 aquariums to the table.)
Fish Shop Warehouse Common Core 4 - Multiplication.comOnce you have put the correct number of aquariums on the table, the bags of fish will appear on the right side of the screen.
Fish Shop Warehouse Common Core 5 - Multiplication.comDrag the bags of fish into each aquarium.  (In this example, you will need to drag 5 fish into each aquarium)
When you have the correct number of fish in each aquarium, a NICE JOB text bubble will appear.  To try another problem, click on OK.
