Lesson 1 - Repeated Addition
The one multiplication facts
Multiplication is repeated addition so:
1 x 4 = 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4
1 x 2 = 1 + 1 = 2
1 x 5 = 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 5
3 x 1 = 3
9 x 1 = 9
Because of the commutative property of multiplication:
1 x 4 = 4 x 1
= 4
1 x 8 = 8 x 1
= 8
Any number times one is always itself!
