Lattice multiplication is a technique used to help students multiply multiple digits.
Using columns and rows, lattice multiplication allows you to do all your multiplying, then all your addition. As opposed to the traditional method that combines both simultaneously.
Seriously, this would have been nice when I was in grade school. Could have saved me a lot of math anxiety!
