The Perfect Fall Lesson (with FREE Printables): Math, Art, Graphing and Treats

Fall has arrived.

For most teachers, this means classrooms are loaded with all sorts of fall projects, worksheets, and autumn-colored art.

If you are looking for a great art project to do this fall... look no further.

Drawing pumpkins has never been so easy. 

Simply print the directions... for FREE!  


Before you know it your classroom will be filled with beautiful fall art.

We used Oil Pastels but watercolor, crayons, or colored pencil would also work. Using black to outline is a must; it really makes the pumpkin pop!

I love mounting students art work to cardboard with some adorable colored yarn. Makes for an easy, but darling display piece.


For a full afternoon of art fun and learning, check out this great FREE math worksheet. Students will measure and dissect the parts of a circle.

Once you've finished the art and math worksheet, it only seems right that all should be rewarded with a yummy treat!!

But, there's a catch... Students have to graph their ingredients before they can dig in.

Why?

Because you're the teacher and why not make learning fun?!

Follow this simple recipe, and serve each student 1/2 Cup portion.  Next, have your students graph and sort the treat.  

After everyone is done graphing, take a class poll to see how the individual graphs compare to the class as a whole.

Ingredients:

6 cups Chex or Crispix cereal
1 cup pretzels
6 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup Reese’s pieces or M+M’s
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 cup candy corn

Directions:
Pre-heat the oven to 275 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat and set aside.

Melt the butter in a large bowl, then toss together with the cereal and pretzels until evenly coated. In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar and cinnamon, then toss with the cereal mixture to evenly coat. Spread the cereal mixture onto the baking pan and bake for 20 minutes.

After removing from the oven, allow to cool completely. Then, stir together with the Reese’s, candy corn and marshmallows.
