OOEY, GOOEY, Fun!

Playdough.

I must admit even as an adult I love to sit and squish the salty smelling massive blob between my fingers. Molding and shaping it into some unexpected form.

If your anything like me, you love to smoosh play dough, and have a little trick up your sleeve for those "boring" summer days! Ok I am not bored ( Days of Our Lives, bon bons, tanning... I am kidding here!), but I sure have heard that uttered from my sweet angels mouths a time or two!

In those moments it's nice to have a little something in your back pocket you can pull out!

I love this recipe, it is so easy. Have your kids, if they are old enough, do the measuring, mixing and coloring!  The hands on fun instantly relieves the boredom.

Tip: practice math skills by doubling, tripling or cutting the recipe in half!

For this dough you will need:

-1/4 cup salt
-1 cup flour
-1/4 cup water

Have your child mix the flour and salt in a bowl, then add water. Knead the dough until you reach the desired consistency. You may need to add more water. Note: This dough doesn't last as long as the cooked recipes. For other recipes click here.

Other options: Divide into sections, then knead in food coloring (liquid or paste). Kids love making the white play dough change colors. You can also use unsweetened Kool-Aid for color and scent.  Experiment with glitter for sparkly play dough.

If you have some great play dough recipes, please share them!
