Whip-It Up Wednesday: 4th and 5th Grade Bake Sale

Posted by:

Two special teachers joined forces and had their students put on a school-wide bake sale.

The students decided they wanted to sell their baked goods during lunch and after school. They came up with a schedule that would be fair for each student. Each student wanted to have a turn working at the bake sale.

The bake sale funds earned will be donated to the "Hope of Hope School and Orphanage" in India.

The students were so excited and did a lot of the work themselves. They made signs, baked, helped with set-up and also worked the sale.

Taking money, counting back change, having fun and raising money for kids on the other side of the world.

In the end, after selling each item for only $.50 cents, they raised over $275 dollars!  Amazing!

During this one afternoon of hard work, these generous students accomplished a lot more than just baking.  They learned how to work together, organize for a deadline, work with money, and best of all, how special helping others can really be.
