Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr and John Archambault is a favorite alphabet book of teachers for students ages 4-8.
A told B,
and B told C
"I'll meet you at the top
of the coconut tree."
This sing song silly book follows the adventures of the letters of the alphabet as they race up the coconut tree.
There are SO many great activities that you can do with students surrounding this cute book. Here are a few math activities to use in your classroom.
1. I love how this teacher at my daughter's school tied math into the activity by having the students record the number of consonants vs vowels in their names.
Here is a similar letter counting idea with a free printable from A Cupcake For The Teacher.
2. I also love this FREE printable coconut counting activity sheet from Kroger's Kindergarten.
Students are asked to color and then count out the correct number of coconuts on each tree. Check out her entire lesson plan, it is so fun!
3. Here is a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Number Quantities Center Freebie by LaToya Reed from Teachers Pay Teachers.
4. This Counting Coconuts Card Game Freebie from Mrs. Hodge and Her Kindergarten Kids is adorable!
