The White House has announced a new initiative President Obama is calling ConnectEd.
ConnectEd, according to the White House, will connect 99 percent of American students to the internet in the next 5 years with the aid of broadband and high speed wireless in our schools.
Connecting students to the internet and training teachers will help US schools, who are falling behind in technological education.
Currently, fewer than 20% of educators report that the internet access in their classroom meet their teaching needs.
The administration would like for all students and teachers to have access to the internet in order to give children the education they need to compete with other countries in the current job market that is strongly technology based.
