I love giving my kids teachers gifts during the holidays to let them know how much we appreciate them.
A few years ago, I found this idea in a Better Homes and Gardens Magazine for homemade hot chocolate mix and it has been a staple Thanksgiving Day gift ever since!
It is so cute and so simple, and the hot chocolate is SO yummy!
To start, you want to make the hot chocolate mix.
All is Calm Hot Chocolate Mix
In a large bowl, combine and mix:
- 16 oz. milk chocolate chips or pieces
- 1 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Divide this mixture into 4 small mason jars.
Cut a patterned material into a square and attach to the inside lid of the mason jar.
Attach a ribbon and cardstock with the following instructions.
I like to find cute cardstock that matches the material I used to cover the lid, and then have my kids write a little thank you note on the back of the instructions.
The finished jar looks so cute!
I like to think that my kids teachers will have a moment by a fire with a cup of yummy hot chocolate, and in that moment they will know how much we appreciate them!
What is your favorite handmade Thanksgiving gift for your child's teacher?
