Christmas Tree Counting

Posted by:

This is a great activity for your kindergartners to practice counting during Christmas and an easy one to add to your math centers!

If you have access to a die cutter, cut out one tree for each student. If you don't have a die cutter, you can get some great tree printable templates here.

You will also need different-sized red, green and white pom-poms in a tray to use as ornaments.

Allow the students to take turns giving you a number, then ask the students to decorate their tree with that many ornaments. Students will love decorating their trees with ornaments!

You can modify this activity to teach many types of math concepts.

How do you bring Christmas into your math centers? We are always looking for fresh ideas!
