Full House: An Invitation to Fractions by Dayle Ann Dodds was a cute little story that my kindergartner LOVED! It had hysterical pictures, a funny cast of characters and rhyming dialog that was a lot of fun.
The story is about Miss Bloom, who owns the Strawberry Inn. Miss Bloom welcomes visitors all day to stay at her inn. My kids love it when I change voices while reading books to them and this book made it easy to use LOTS of funny voices!
While Miss Bloom fills the 6 rooms in her inn and cuts up a strawberry cake among the guests, children are introduced to fractions. This book is so fun and engaging, that kids don't even realize that they are reading about math!
It is a very entertaining way to introduce the basics of fractions to students--just don't forget to use your silly voices!
Silly voices make EVERYTHING more fun!
